We welcome children and families to join us in the services at church
Once a month we celebrate with the All Age Service at 9.30 - the week can alter sometimes in line with the Church calendar so check the notice sheet on the Calendar page for details..
We love to have you there and we are at ease with children who might be noisy or cry- don't be worried. The service lasts for about 60 minutes and is followed by a drink. Give it a try.

Annual Report of Brownies and Guides 2024
12th Dewsbury Brownies
They came back after summer and began with a pow wow to decide the activities for the next term. The girls really enjoyed choosing the skill builders and UMA’s. The girls needed to complete Reflect and Innovate, so that one of the girls would get their gold award before leaving us to join guides. They managed it but it was a very busy term, even so they managed to visit Dewsbury Arts for their annual pantomime. In the new year they began with the Feel Good badge and the girls also enjoyed doing lots of UMA’s which were based on games, they particularly enjoyed sole mates and the life cycle of a butterfly. The girls also started the 50-challenge badge, they especially enjoyed making the number 50 using their bodies. Thinking Day was celebrated with the guides, other leaders from other units and the division commissioner, who presented Sally Kynaston with her 40 year badge. The girls made beautiful cards for Mother’s Day and sock puppet rabbits for Easter. They went into the final term doing lots more skill builders and UMA’s plus they had a visit from The Clay Team and Bricktopia. They went on pack holiday to Whiteley Woods with 17th and 54th Doncaster Brownies, everyone had an amazing time.
Guides

Each patrol made a 3D aquarium they were quite spectacular. The challenge included a walk with St Pauls Guides to Spinners fish and chip restaurant burning off some energy before enjoying a chippy tea….who doesn’t like a chippy tea !Working on “ Express Myself” helped to encourage team work whilst ensuring that everyone had a voice. Towards Christmas they joined together with 23rd Dewsbury and 19th Batley Guides for a fun filled Christmas craft evening.January everyone enjoyed the annual visit to Dewsbury Town Hall to watch the panto, tickets already on order for next year ! In February the girls and leaders and lots of parents helped at Dewsbury 10k road race handing out tee shirts to over 1000 runners, the girls love helping to make the event a success and received complements a plenty on how well they coped with the task at hand. A fantastic overnight stay at Scammondem Activity Centre ( should have been 2 nights but for the snow!) saw the girls complete the WYS 50 year challenge badge.service badge, they spent the evening celebrating with Brownies and special guests. The girls enjoyed working on the Paris Olympics challenge badge in the spring term with a visit from a fitness instructor amongst other healthy activities. The term finished with a cook out at Midgley Campsite in Biblical rainfall! They seem to have developed a new skill for choosing dates with bad weather . That said the girls didn’t seem to mind getting wet at all it added to the fun. When asked if the evening was going ahead the reply was yes...wear shorts skin is waterproof.
