A new Year and an opportunity to start a new Hobby.
Welcome to 2019 and we have two opportunities for you to enjoy singing. Starting on Tuesday 8th January at 1600 the Thornhill Community Choir 2017 meets in Church. This choir is for everyone to join- it is currently FREE too. Just turn up and sing.
On Wednesday January 9th at 1815 the Church Choir restarts rehearsals. Anyone is welcome to come and sing hymns and songs and anthems.
Singing is good for your physical and mental health. Meet new people and enjoy.

Thornhill Poors Charity

Does your organisation provide services to the Elderly or to Young People?

Is it situated within the boundaries of the Ancient Parish of Thornhill?  (Flockton, Savile Town, Netherton, Middlestown, Overton, Midgley, Thornhill, Thornhill Lees and Whitley)

If so it may be eligible for a Grant of between £100 and £1500. The intention of the grant is to improve the life and conditions for those groups, and each application will be considered by the trustees on its merits, with preference given to groups with limited resources who make an active voluntary contribution to their community. In applying, it must be established by applicants that the grants are to be spent on activities and not wages and associated costs.

Apply NOW by contacting andrew.shaw@sitlingtonparishcouncil.gov.uk for the appropriate forms. Grant applications must arrive no later than 14th December 2018. An acknowledgement of completed applications will be sent, and a decision on applications will be made in January 2019.

We meet to discuss, pray and worship about God in a safe, relaxed environment at 7.30pm on the first and third Tuesday of the month

All welcome - see notice sheet for location and contact information

Want to find out more? Here's a little bit of information from Paul who hosts the group with Mel in their home...

We meet to build fellowship with each other and gain an understanding of what God means to each of us. We discuss various topics which have included subjects such as 'the Amour of God', 'what is our soul', 'tough questions about God' and 'how can we show God in our lives everyday'. Its also a time for worship praise and prayer as well as time for sharing our experiences and thoughts in a safe friendly environment. We are looking to continue this year in a similar style and anyone is welcome either to just listen or to contribute and for those who feel they have a gifting to lead a discussion
